DOST will give its unconditional support to Boyko Borisov if he runs for president, announced DOST’s leader Lutvi Mestan after filing over 5,000 signatures for participation in the vote for president.
Mestan explained that DOST having its own nomination depends on whether the PM will participate in the elections. The attitude towards Russia will be the main point to consider in case of a ballotage.
“We cannot be expected to support the already announced left-wing candidates and that is not because they are left-wing but because I overheard their opinion on DOST’s main criterion for the Bulgarian president to be a real Atlanticist and a NATO supporter and not such on paper only,” stated Mestan.
