The coalition between GERB and the Reformist Bloc is to last after the presidential elections and continue its work until the next general ones, the cabinet's press office quotes party leaders as saying after a Thursday meeting.
"The leaders reached an agreement on the need for political stability which will ensure the country's economic development and the continuation of reforms," according to a statement sent to the media.
Thursday's talks at the Council of Ministers involved GERB leader Boyko Borisov and the heads of all Reformist Bloc parties.
Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova, who is also Deputy Prime Minister for coalition policies, was also present.
The three-hour meeting was held after months of tensions between Borisov's conservative GERB party and the Reformist Bloc over the prospects to raise a joint nomination for the November 06 presidential elections.
The RB is a loose alliance of right-wing and centrist parties that is the junior partner in the coalition government. One of its parties, DSB, switched to opposition in December.
News website Dnevnik.bg quotes some of the leaders as saying the meeting was aimed at "confirming" the existing coalition agreement.
