Belgian police arrested six people in the Brussels suburb of Schaerbeek on Thursday as the manhunt for suspects in Tuesday's terrorist attacks targeting Zaventem airport and Maelbeek metro station continues.
It is still unclear whether the arrested people are connected to the attacks and their identities have not been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, a terrorist attack in France was foiled as the suspected perpetrator was arrested near Paris on Thursday.
The attacks in the Belgian capital have been linked to the ones which took place in Paris on November 13 last year when 130 people were killed in multiple gun and bomb attacks.
Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for both attacks.
Belgium admitted it had made “errors” as regards one of the suicide bombers who blew himself at the airport.
Turkey had arrested and deported Brahim el-Bakraoui last June, issuing a warning to Belgium which has been ignored.
El-Bakraoui's brother, Khalid, carried out the suicide attack at Maelbeek.
According to unconfirmed reports, wanted terrorist Najim Laachraoui was one of the other attackers at the airport.
The identity of a third suspected airport attacker has not been established yet and he is believed to be on the run.
Authorities are not excluding the possibility that there was a second attacker at the metro station.
The twin bombings at the departure hall of the airport followed by an explosion at the metro station claimed the lives of at least 31 people and left hundreds other injured.
The attacks in the Belgian capital came only several days after the chief suspect in the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam, was detained in the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek last week.
