Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov appointed two Deputy Justice Ministers, the press service of the government announced of Monday.
One of the deputy justice ministers is Verginiya Micheva-Ruseva, who held the same position until December 11 last year. She has more than nineteen years of work experience in the legal field.
The other deputy is Krasimira Filipova, who at present is deputy appellate prosecutor in the appellate prosecutor's office of Sofia. Filipova has more than fourteen years of work experience in the judicial system.
These appointments come after the resignation of former Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov and his deputies in December last year.
Ivanov resigned after parliament failed to adopt all the amendments to the constitution concerning the reform of the judiciary, which had been proposed by him.
This resulted in tensions in the coalition government, as one of the parties constituting the junior coalition partner – the Reformist Bloc (RB), withdrew its support for the cabinet in support of Ivanov.
Ekaterina Zaharieva was proposed by Borisov and approved by parliament as the country's new justice minister.
GERB leader Boyko Borissov reacted to the fall of the Zhelyazkov government during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, following the mass protests across the country.
The government is making a second clumsy attempt to introduce the state budget.
