Inside Bulgaria's Easter Celebrations: Traditions Passed Through Generations
Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
Bulgaria will host the thirteenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest at the Arena Armeec hall in Sofia on Saturday evening at 20:30 EET.
A total of seventeen countries will participate in this year's edition of the song contest, with Australia and Ireland making their debut.
Most of the tickets for the concert have been sold out, with 7000 spectators expected to attend the event.
The show will be hosted by Bulgarian singer Poli Genova, who represented Bulgaria at the 2011 edition of the Eurovision.
Bulgaria will be represented by Gabriela Yordanova and Ivan Stoyanov with their song "Colour of Hope", with the duet performing under number thirteen.
Last year, Bulgaria finished second, with the country's representatives Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim finishing only twelve points behind the winner from Italy - Vincenzo Cantiello.
After the winning country refused to host this year's edition of the tournament, Bulgaria was granted the right to do so.
The concert will be broadcasted live on the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), which is the organiser of the event.
The Bulgarian representative for this year's edition of the song contest was chosen after a national selection, which was won by Gabriela, with Ivan finishing second.
Krisia will perform the theme song of this year's edition "Discover", which is also the slogan of the 2015 Junior Eurovision.
More than 200 performers and dancers are expected to appear on the stage, which is much larger than last year's one in Malta.
The interior ministry has taken extra measures to ensure the safety of everyone at the concert, with spectators to undergo three stages of security checks. Therefore, authorities advise visitors to be present at the venue earlier.
