The Russian ban on food imports has so far been in force for the EU member states, the United States, Australia, Canada and Norway. The embargo includes dairy products, fruit and vegetables, fish and meat.
In the case of Ukraine, the ban on exporting foods to Russia will take effect from the start of next year only if the government in Kiev implements the economic section of the association agreement with the EU which it signed in June 2014, Medvedev said.
