Inside Bulgaria's Easter Celebrations: Traditions Passed Through Generations
Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
The holders of the Bulgarian Cup Cherno More surprisingly claimed the country's Supercup on Wednesday.
The team from Varna defeated the reigning football champion Ludogorets with 1:0 and won its first ever Supercup.
Thus, Cherno More became the seventh team to claim the Supercup after this has been previously achieved by CSKA, Levski, Ludogorets, Litex, Beroe and Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
CSKA has the most number of trophies – four, followed by the eternal rival Levski with three, Ludogorets with two and the remaining four teams with one cup each.
The only goal in the match, which was played at the Lazur stadium in Burgas, was scored by Mehdi Bourabia in the 15th minute.
Ludogorets failed to impress and continues with its disappointing performance since the beginning of the new season.
The team from Razgrad was ousted from the second qualifying round of the Champions League after suffering two defeats to the Moldovan champions Milsami Orhei.
The reigning champions are also not showing their best in the domestic A Group, where they occupy the fourth place after four rounds.
Similarly to Ludogorets, Cherno More also ended its performance in the European tournaments early on.
The team was ousted from the second qualifying round of the Europa League after recording 1:1 draw and suffering 0:4 defeat to Dinamo Minsk.
