Inside Bulgaria's Easter Celebrations: Traditions Passed Through Generations
Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov identified Russia as posing a serious threat to security.
Mitov said this during his speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, daily Dnevnik reports.
The Bulgarian foreign minister stated that the behaviour of Russia nowadays presented a serious threat to security.
According to him, the sanctions imposed on Russia had to be sustained regardless of all real and supposed shortcomings.
Furthermore, Mitov added that every state wanted to maintain good relations and trade with Russia and countries have made all efforts to achieve this after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The foreign minister is on a working visit to the USA from July 14 to 17, which comes six months after the visit of US State Secretary John Kerry to Bulgaria in January.
The goal of the visit is to review the progress on the strategic dialogue between Bulgaria and the USA.
The strategic dialogue is being conducted within working groups on security and defence, energy security, rule of law, education and people-to-people contacts.
The schedule of Mitov foresees meetings in the US State Department, National Security Council, Defense, Energy and Commerce Departments on bilateral and international issues.
The Bulgarian foreign minister will also hold meetings in the Congress with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
