Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
Brazilian defender Junior Caicara made a prominent step in his career by joining German club Schalke 04 after spending three seasons at Bulgaria's reigning football champion Ludogorets.
Caicara, who joined Ludogorets back in 2012, signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2018, the website of Schalke informs.
According to the Sporting Director of Schalke, Caicara was looking forward to the new challenge and taking the next step in his career.
In the last three seasons with Ludogorets, the Brazilian right back claimed three successive domestic championship titles and won the Bulgarian Cup on two occasions in 2012 and 2014.
Caicara also won twice the Bulgarian Supercup in 2013 and 2015 and contributed to his team's memorable performance in the Europa League and the Champions League in the last two seasons.
The 26-year-old Brazilian started his career at the Coritiba youth academy before signing his first professional contract with the Brazilian team Santo Andre.
He spent short spells at two other Brazilian clubs – Alagoano and America before arriving to Europe in 2010, where he joined the Portuguese side Gil Vicente.
