Bulgaria's Transport Minister Dismisses CEOs of Two Railway Companies
Interim Transport Minister Hristo Aleksiev has dismissed the heads of two state-owned companies in the railway sector.
A total of BGN 47 M will be allocated to the repair and maintenance of the rail network in Bulgaria, according to the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC).
The funding has increased by over BGN 10 M from the allocation in 2014, according to the NRIC, as cited by Nova TV.
A total of BGN 7 M will go to the renewal of railway tracks and a total of BGN 900 000 will be spent on the replacement and repair of railroad switches.
Apart from that, a substantial amount of money will go to covering the damage caused by stolen parts and elements of the railway infrastructure.
Missing railway infrastructure elements are currently estimated at over BGN 600 000.
