Winter Tourism: 1.8 Million Visit Bulgaria
Bulgaria has witnessed a bustling winter tourism season, with a total of 1.8 million tourists gracing its picturesque landscapes from December 1 to March 25
The road between Asenovgrad and Smolyan still remains closed both ways due to the new landslide in the region. It is expected that the road will be unblocked by the end of the day.
In order for the rocks after the landslide can be cleared faster, excavators will be working on both sides of the road.
Geologists are already on site and conducting the neccessary research in order to create a project for funding application. The main purpose will be for the landslide-prone area to be further ensured.
State institutions have stated that the rock and earth mass will be cleared off the road and people will be able to attend the Bachkovo monastery for the upcoming pre-Easter celebrations.
