The construction of the northern portion of the Sofia bypass road will start on February 18, Minister of Regional Development Liliana Pavlova announced on Friday.
Pavlova added that Struma and Maritsa motorways will be launched by the end of October 2015.
She presented her 100 days in office report in Bulgarian Parliament, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Earlier on Friday, an agreement was signed between the regional ministry and the World Bank on the devеlopment of a concept for the implementation of a toll system in the Bulgarian road infrastructure.
Pavlova said that the most important underlying principle in the program will be that whoever uses the roads the most will also be responsible for their repair.
The average annual revenue from toll taxes in the country amounts to BGN 200 M. According to preliminary calculations, the sum could be doubled easily.
The priorities of the center-right GERB party's government also include increasing control over construction of buildings along the coastline, as well as reforms in the water management sector.
GERB leader Boyko Borissov reacted to the fall of the Zhelyazkov government during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, following the mass protests across the country.
