Bulgaria has secured the 40th spot in the global ranking of tourist destinations
The river Stryama burst a dike on the territory of Maritsa municipality in southern Bulgaria, threatening to flood the nearby village of Trilistnik and Trakia Motorway.
Urgent measures have been taken to reinforce the breached dike, Focus news agency reports.
Maritsa mayor Dimitar Ivanov explained that a commission inspected the dike on Monday and identified three places of potential danger.
If the dike is not reinforced, the river threatens to flood the village of Trilistnik, which is inhabited by 800 people, as well as Trakia Motorway.
