Bulgarians cast their votes and now it is up to the politicians to read people's message from Sunday's elections, President Rosen Plevneliev said Tuesday.
Commenting on the results from the early parliamentary elections on October 5, Plevneliev noted that politicians should find the mechanisms, be brave and sensible enough, so as to meet people's
expectations, the President's press office informs.
"I am absolutely convinced that elections after the elections are not the solution," President Plevneliev stressed. According to the head of state, a new vote would be like telling people that they have not voted "correctly" and therefore they must do it again.
"It is not the people, but the politicians that should resit the exam," said the President. In his opinion, it takes humbleness, clear commitment and hard work.
Plevneliev stressed that he will take his constitutional commitments very seriously and that he will be continuously available so that the post-election constitutional procedure be promptly implemented.
