Bulgaria’s caretaker government has adopted a draft of Operational Program "Human Resources Development" 2014-2020.

Bulgaria is to hold talks with the European Commission on the approved version of the document.

The draft takes into account the stance of the EC offices as well as the formal comments of the EC on the project.

The Operational Program "Human Resources Development" 2014-2020 is best prepared to be launched in the new programming period, according to the press office of the caretaker government.

The operational program focuses on the fight against unemployment among vulnerable groups on the labor market.

It also envisages measures aimed at boosting the qualifications of employed persons in accordance with the needs of the business sector.

The operational program will contribute to reducing poverty and promoting social inclusion.

It envisages investments in the modernization of public policies in the spheres of social assistance, healthcare, and the labor market.

The budget of the program amounts to BGN 2.136 B, including Bulgaria’s national co-financing.

The sum also includes BGN 108 M from the budget of the EU under the Youth Employment Initiative.

A sum of BGN 150 M under the European Social Fund will be added to it, thereby making the total amount earmarked for supporting the youth nearly BGN 258 M.
