Bulgaria: Number of Burgas Flood Victims Climbs To Three Photo: BGNES

Authorities report of a third victim of the floods in the Burgas region on Friday night.

According to Dnevnik.bg, on Saturday afternoon was found the body of a shepherd near the village of Novo Panicharevo, near Primorsko. 

The other two victimstwo women who drowned in their cars near Burgas – were discovered earlier on Saturday. 

Monday, September 8, was declared a day of mourning in Burgas.

Meanwhile, Haskovo.net reports that the local authorities in Haskovo declared a state of emergency in the Svilengrad municipality due to the rising waters of the Maritsa river.

So far the situation is under control, but the speed with which the water rises, is alarming.
