Rumen Danev has been appointed by Bulgaria's Minister of Finance, Petar Chobanov, to the post Deputy Director of the Customs Agency.

Danev will be in charge of the Customs' "Intelligence and Investigation" and " Post Control" sectors.

Danev was born in 1958 in the northeastern city of Shumen. He has a Master's Degree in Law. His professional career began in the judiciary when he was appointed to the position of judge-legal officer at the District Court in the town of Kostinbrod. After that he worked as legal advisor for various enterprises.

Danev's professional experience in the Customs Agency began in 1995, when he was appointed expert in its "Litigation" Directorate, which he later headed. From 2000 to 2009, he was Director of the "Intelligence and Investigation" Directorate. After leaving the Customs administration, Danev has held various legal positions.

On November 11, Chobanov appointed Pavel Tonev Director General of the National Customs Agency.
