Bulgaria’s basketball champions Lukoil Akademik earned a 2nd consecutive victory in the group stage of the Eurocup, after defeating Hapoel Jerusalem 76:63.
The win puts Lukoil back in the battle for the 3rd place in the group, which would give them a chance to advance to the next round. It was also important that they won by more than 7 points, which would put them above Hapoel if they finish with equal wins.
This was also a debut in Europe for Lukoil’s new head coach Dimitris Galanis.
Alando Tucker scored an astonishing 29 points for the Bulgarians, while Davin White added another 14.
Lukoil’s next game is away to group leaders Khimki Moscow, on the 26th of November.
