We phoned Nansi Karaboycheva, Miss Bulgaria 2013, for a quick chat about her impressions from Miss World and her future plans. The Bulgarian beauty is a charming 20 year old girl, who loves to hang out with her her friends and does a lot of sports. She also supports a few good causes and goes to University.
What is your impression from Miss World 2013 Contest?
It was a lot of fun for me, the girls from the other countries were great - beautiful and charming! As for the organisation, I imagine that to manage an event with 130 contestants is a tough job and even though organizers got nervous from time to time, overall there was a lot of positive energy at the contest and I will remember it with fondness!
Did you become friends with some of the girls?
Yes I did, I got close with Miss Georgia who was my roommate. We keep in touch by writing to each other almost every day. I invited her to visit me in Bulgaria and I hope that she could come. I am happy to say that Miss Georgia is a friend of mine, not just someone I got to know during the pageant.
What did you learn about yourself from your participation at Miss World 2013?
The most important thing I have learned for myself as a person, is that when I travel to long destinations and am far away from my closest people it is tough for me without them and I miss them a lot, because I really need them to be around me.
As for the Miss World competition, I have come to the conclusion that such big international events may have a political significance and when it comes down to judging it is not just about the personal charm and beauty of a girl, but also about her origin – what country does she come from.
What are your plans for the future?
To graduate successfully from University (Nansi is enrolled in a major in Applied Informatics at Bulgaria's University of National and World Economy UNWE) As Miss Bulgaria I will continue my involvement in various good causes. There are many stray dogs wandering on the streets of Bulgaria and it shouldn't be like that, so I am working with a shelter for stray dogs situated in Bogrov, where I frequently go to help with whatever I can.
(Bogrov shelter , situated near Sofia is the biggest shelter for stray dogs in Bulgaria, it is run by "Animal Rescue Sofia" NGO http://arsofia.com/bogrov )
I would also like to help Bulgaria's children to get more involved with sports.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to hang out with my friends and to play billiards and I do a lot of sports. I also love to take out my two dogs for a walk with my sister.
Do you have a favorite music artist, or a favorite music genre?
I do have a favorite song, "Shape Of My Heart"!
What was the last movie you watched that was really good?
Honestly, I have not seen a movie in the last three months, because I have been so busy...
Do you have a dream that you would like to accomplish?
I don't dream for something to happen, because I have a more realistic perception of life, therefore my "dreams" are achievable ones such as to be a happy person, to have a successfull career and definitely to have a happy family!
Also, I am a fan of extreme sports and I would love to jump with a parachute one day!
