Sofia city hall will partner with Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski on a project for a new high school.
Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova made the announcement during a meeting with rectors at the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the university.
Classes will be led by university lecturers and by students serving as interns, added Fandakova.
The school will be in a new building to be constructed on the territory of the “Lozenets” campus, where the university’s Chemical Faculty is situated.
“There’s an undeveloped pit in front of the Chemical Faculty building, standing there for 25 years, and I really hope that by the end of 2015, when the next rector will step in office, the pit would be replaced with a brand new school building”, pointed out the rector of the university Ivan Ilchev.
At present, two Sofia high schools, “National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences”and “National Gymnasium of Ancient Languages and Cultures”, are St. Kliment Ohridski University’ lyceums.
