Anti-government protests have been continuing outside Bulgaria’s parliament.
Demonstrations have been held for more than five weeks calling for the coalition led by Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski to resign.
Thousands of people turn out in Sofia daily to take a stand against the corruption they believe is endemic within the government.
Recent polls suggest 60 percent of Bulgarians disapprove of Oresharski’s cabinet.
A smaller rival rally in support of the government also took place on Sunday.
Vladimir Pisanchev has been elected the new head of the State Agency of National Security (DANS). Media mogul Delyan Peyevski was originally appointed to the position – triggering the start of the protests.
