Bulgarian authorities found themselves grappling with a peculiar case involving a 60-year-old Ukrainian woman
A homemade bomb has exploded around 6 am Sunday on a parking lot in Bulgaria's largest summer resort "Sunny Beach."
According to the police report, the explosive had not been very powerful; there are no fatalities or injured people. Two windows of a nearby bar have been broken.
A suspect is in custody. He is held in the police precinct of the nearby coastal town of Nessebar. The authorities are probing the case.
Three hours later, a fire totaled bar Neptune in "Sunny Beach."
According to the regional spokesperson of the Interior Ministry, it started in the kitchen when some cooking oil caught fire.
Two fire trucks and 8 firefighters have been sent to the scene. They managed to safely remove the gas bottles used in the kitchen and to prevent a larger disaster.
The thick smoke has alarmed holidaymakers in nearby hotels, but they have not been evacuated. No one has sustained injuries.
According to other reports, the fire started from an attraction – a burning pyramid of shots in the bar, which has been accidently pushed by a customer.
The authorities are investigating the case.
