Assassination Scheme Against Zelensky Uncovered by Ukraine
Ukraine has uncovered a meticulously planned assassination attempt against President Volodymyr Zelensky, with ties pointing directly to Russian involvement
Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry has no information of any assassination plots against former PM Boyko Borisov, Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev said Friday.
Yovchev noted that several anonymous threats have been received against Borisov over the past months – but all of these were made by intoxicated or mentally ill individuals.
Last week, Borisov claimed that a plot exists to arrest him and then murder him in custody
Borisov reminded that Bulgarian Socialist Party leader and PES president Sergey Stanishev recently described the appointment of controversial businessman Delyan Peevski as an “unorthodox” decision.
According to Borisov, that meant Stanishev was seeking an “unorthodox” way to deal with him – by killing him while in custody.
He said Peevski’s appointment was made by Ahmed Dogan, a former leader of the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms party.
Back in February, Borisov claimed Dogan was masterminding a plot to assassinate him.
Peevski’s appointment was reversed by Parliament on Wednesday following a week of massive nationwide protests against his election.
The move failed to appease protesters, who have demanded the government’s resignation.
