Two young Bulgarian men, who were friends, have tragically ended their lives in two separate apparent self-hanging incidents, while a third one has threatened to follow them.
All three frequently spent time together.
The tragedies took place in the mining town of Madan in southern Bulgaria, which is in an area largely populated by Bulgarian Muslims.
The first one to die has been Bedri Hasankev, 24, who was found minutes after midnight Monday, according to 24 Chassa (24 Hours) daily. He worked in the local mine and ended his life in a log shed he had made, near the apartment building where he resided.
His friend, Ramadan Bodurov, 21, has died by hanging several hours later. He was found inside the family home in Madan by his mother, who worked as a seamstress in a local factory.
The third friend, Krasimir Dimitrov, 27, warned his family that he was going to hang himself Monday evening. After realizing that Krasimir was not joking, his brother got scared and called the 112 emergency hotline.
Dimitrov has been arrested and the police summoned his family doctor and a psychiatrist.
