Bulgaria’s president is expected to convene the new parliament within less than a month after the names of the MPs are confirmed.
Under the constitution, Rosen Plevneliev is obliged to make the move within one month, but he is expected to convene the elected MPs as early as next week.
The president is also the institution to give a mandate of forming a cabinet to the largest parliamentary group in the assembly.
Most probably Plevneliev will hand over the mandate to the recently ousted centrist GERB party of Boyko Borisov, who took a slight lead in the election results over their arch rivals – the Socialist Party.
