Turkey's PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated ex Bulgarian PM and GERB party leader Boyko Borisov over GERB's Sunday election victory, in the first international reaction to the vote, according to a GERB release.

In a phone call, Erdogan has stated he trusts in GERB's political will, says a statement of the party.

"I wish success to GERB and personally to you," added the Turkish PM.

Borisov thanked Erdogan and expressed hopes that the good cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkey will continue in the future.
