Survey: GERB Set to Dominate Next Parliament with 80 Deputies, WCC-DB to Lose More Seats
The upcoming composition of the 50th National Assembly projects GERB to secure 80 seats, a slight increase from their current 69
Security guards have been provided for Miroslav Naydenov, former Agriculture Minister in the Cabinet of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB.
The information emerged after Naydenov was questioned by the Prosecutor's Office in the aftermath of the former Minister's first interview ever since he was charged with corruption.
The order to provide security has been sent to the Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry, Kalin Georgiev.
During the interview, Naydenov informed he had moved his family abroad over fears for their safety.
"I am talking about psychological pressure. If someone enters my home with a search warrant I do not want my family to witness it. I did it, let's say, to preserve their mental health, if not their lives," said he.
The prosecution reacted immediately in summoning Naydenov after he declared before bTV that former Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, had indeed been illegally snooping around and eavesdropping on ALL members of the Cabinet, along with President Rosen Plevneliev, possibly former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, and many other senior officials.
The outcome of the interrogation remains unknown.
