Bulgarian President among 2 Heads of State at Thatcher Funeral, Obama Skips
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev was one of the two acting heads of state who attended Wednesday's ceremonial funeral of former British PM Margaret Thatcher.
The ceremony held after a procession at London's St. Paul's Cathedral, was also attended by 11 serving PMs and 17 serving Ministers of Foreign Affairs from around the world, writes the BBC.
Although the US has sent a sizeable delegation for the funeral, it does not include President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, or any of the surviving previous American Presidents.
Among the acting PMs to attend the ceremony were Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, Poland's Donald Tusk and Canada's Stephen Harper.
Germany was represented by Foreign Affairs Minister Guido Westerwelle.
Argentina, with which Thatcher's Britain led the 1982 Falkalds War, did not send an official representative.
