Bulgaria's former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov  are looking to secure their places in the country's next Parliament.

Borisov and Tsvetanov will each lead tow of his party's tickets, it was made clear on Wednesday.

It has been reported that Tsvetanov will head GERB's ticket in the Northern city of Veliko Tarnovo.

Several former GERB ministers – Delyan Dobrev, Ivaylo Moskovski, Lilyana Pavlova and Tomislav Donchev – are also expected to head some of the party's tickets across the country.

The center-right government of former PM Boyko Borisov resigned amid massive anti-poverty protests in February, prompting President Rosen Plevneliev to adjourn the Parliament, appoint a caretaker Cabinet and schedule snap elections for May 12.

The deadline for parties willing to join the race in Bulgaria's snap general elections in May by submitting documents for registration with the electoral body expires Wednesday at 6 pm.
