Bulgaria's former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov (2009-2013) will head the election headquarters of his center-right GERB party, the party announced on Wednesday.
Tsvetanov also headed GERB's election headquarters for the 2011 presidential and local elections, which stirred controversy, since he was an acting Interior Minister back then.
Former GERB ministers Delyan Dobrev, Ivaylo Moskovki, Lilyana Pavlova and Tomislav Donchev have taken part in preparing the party's program, it was also revealed on Wednesday.
The center-right government of former PM Boyko Borisov resigned amid massive anti-poverty protests in February, prompting President Rosen Plevneliev to adjourn the Parliament, appoint a caretaker Cabinet and schedule snap elections for May 12.
The deadline for parties willing to join the race in Bulgaria's snap general elections in May by submitting documents for registration with the electoral body expires Wednesday at 6 pm.
