Central Election Commission Prepared for 2-in-1 Elections in Bulgaria
As Bulgaria gears up for early parliamentary elections (6th in the last 3 years), the Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced its readiness for a unique scenario
Bulgaria's State-owned IT company Information Services is the only one to officially submit with the Central Electoral Commission, CEC, a bid for counting the ballots in the early elections.
The information was reported Tuesday by the Deputy Chair of CEC, Elena Markova.
In addition to the Information Services, four other companies have submitted documents, but failed to log an official offer – GED EOOD, G D B Sol AD, the foreign SORA Institute, and Forum Capital OOD.
The offer has been opened and examined by CEC Chair, Sabrie Sapundzhieva.
The Information Services offer includes 8 certificates for quality and a statement the company would not use subcontractors.
CEC explained the price would be announced after it examines the company's proposed software.
When asked how the resignation of Mihail Konstantinov, Mathematics Professor and Head of Information Services, would affect the work, the company's CEO, Ivaylo Filipov, replied:
"We are professionals and to the job we have been selected for," and refused to talk to the media any further.
