Bulgaria's newly appointed Prime Minister Marin Raykov will meet with left-wing opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Sergey Stanishev on Friday.

Raykov and Stanishev are expected to discuss the upcoming snap elections in the country.

Raykov, who was appointed as caretaker PM on Wednesday, has already announced that he will meet with representatives of all parties in Parliament in order to discuss the establishment of an "electoral board", a body that will aim to guarantee transparent and fair elections.

The center-right government of PM Boyko Borisov resigned amid massive anti-poverty protests in February, prompting President Rosen Plevneliev to adjourn the Parliament, appoint a caretaker Cabinet and schedule snap elections for May 12.
