Inside Bulgaria's Easter Celebrations: Traditions Passed Through Generations
Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
Cannon Bulgaria invites photographers to take part in the "Photo of the year – Bulgaria 2012" contest.
The competition jury will select "Photo of 2012" in each category and will pick authors and photos that will be included in the annual national photo exhibition "Photo of the year" conducted in cooperation with the National Art Gallery.
Participants in the competition can submit single photos for the categories of Reportage Photography and Art Photography and series of photos for the Photo Essay category.
The photo contest jury brings together Ivo Hadzhimishev (Chair), Georgi Lozanov, Maxim Minchev, Ivan Kyuranov, Gergana Kostadinova, Petar Abadzhiev, and Velislav Nikolov.
The winners in the different categories will be decided by majority vote.
All photographers awarded in the "Photo of the year" contest are invited to take part in the selection of nominated photos.
The awards are BGN 3000 for reportage photography, BGN 3000 for art photography, and BGN 3000 for photo essay.
All photos nominated in each category will be awarded a premium of BGN 500 each.
The deadline for submission of photos is 31 January, 2013.
