The Bulgarian man who almost killed a woman by pushing her in front of a Sofia subway train on Tuesday has been charged with attempted murder, local authorities have revealed.
The man is to undergo a psychiatric examination, Sofia police chief Valeri Yordanov has told reporters.
Local media have identified the perpetrator as 32-year-old Asen Tsolov.
On Wednesday, police stated that Tsolov and the 48-year-old victim did not know each other. The man's motive is still unknown.
The woman, who is deemed lucky to have survived the horrific incident, is still in hospital. Her life is out of danger.
