Education and research in Bulgaria should be stimulated by the state to create a more competitive business environment, argued Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.
Tuesday Plevneliev called for a first sitting the Council on Education and Research at Bulgaria's Presidency.
"The triangle comprised of research, business and the state is of utmost importance," stated the Bulgarian President.
"Investments in human capital make good profits, high return and deliver high added value," said he.
According to Plevneliev, this means that Bulgaria must invest heavily in its education system to raise the qualification of professors and researchers and build an adequate network of learning.
"Bulgaria wants to further our researchers and to pave the way to knowledge and innovation," said he.
