The Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism (MIET) has officially rejected the rumors about the fake university diplomas of Delyan Dobrev, the newly appointed Economy and Energy Minister.
In a Friday media statement, MIET explains that Dobrev holds a BA degree in Economics from the Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
Apart from that, Dobrev also holds an MA degree in Marketing from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia.
MIET's letter provides copies of Dobrev's diplomas as attachments.
According to a publication of Sega daily, Dobrev's CV on the website of the government says that he completed a specialization in accounting and finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science, of which MIET's letter has not provided any evidence.

The rumor about Dobrevski started circulating Thursday, as a number of media outlets claimed that his name was not on the register of the US university he was said to have attended.
The news came a few weeks after German authorities confirmed that the university diploma of Kalina Ilieva, the former Executive Director of the State Fund Agriculture, was fake.
