A `Sabena` Belgium airline company plane, had an emergency landing Friday morning in Sofia airport because of a sick child, airport`s director Filio Filiovski announced. The Information & Coordination Center has received a message from the air traffic management about a child with a severe attack on board aircraft A-320 flying from Beirut to Brussels. An 11-year-old Naala Frahe, a Dane of Lebanese origin, urgently needed heart surgery. The child had a severe attack when the plane was over Bulgaria. The crew gave the first aid and required the emergency landing. The aircraft landed on the 2-nd strip with some difficulties. This particular landing strip is usually used to taxi off the field. Two ambulance cars - one of the airport and another, of the emergency hospital - were waiting for the plane. Right away the child was taken to one of the Sofia clinics. Unfortunately the girl died after a one-hour operation in the Sofia District Hospital. We have not operated the child, assured the Director of the hospital, Dr. Savcho Savchev. The embassy of Denmark in Sofia was informed about the incident as the kid`s parents bear Danish passports.
