Bulgaria Ready for 2 More Rescue Flights to Libya
Bulgaria's cabinet is fully prepared to send the government's Airbus on one or two flights to Tripoli to evacuate Bulgarian citizens stranded there by the raging civil war.
The information was reported Sunday for the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, by Deputy Foreign Minister, Dimitar Tsanchev, who says the situation and the need for the move are being assessed.
Tsanchev further explained currently Bulgarians wishing to leave Libya are directed to other countries' flights.
One Bulgarian group is going to be evacuated on a Hungarian plane and there is an agreement with Russia to take two Bulgarians on board.
The French ship, which was due to arrive in Benghazi, has been replaced at the last minute by a British military one as the last UK evacuation effort, according to Tsanchev.
