Bulgaria: Romania, Russia Rescue Bulgarians from Libya Even as Moamer Kadhafi's forces stage a brutal crackdown against protesters, swathes of the east of Libya have gone over to opposition control and others into lawlessness,

A total of 10 Bulgarians have been evacuated from Libya with a Romanian rescue plane on Friday, the Bulgarian bTV private channel has informed.

One more Bulgarian citizen has been rescued from the turmoil by a plane sent by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, according to ITAR-TASS.

Meanwhile, some 100 Bulgarian citizens are reported by bTV to have registered to board the Turkish ship Iskenderum, which is to evacuate about 300 foreigners from Libya's eastern city of Benghazi. The Turkish ship was supposed to depart from Benghazi on Thursday, but adverse weather conditions have delayed it. A 30 hour trip to the Turkish port of Marmaris awaits those willing to be evacuated.

On Wednesday, two Bulgarian planes rescued 111 Bulgarians, 70 people from Croatia, 2 from South Korea, 10 from China and six Romanian citizens from Libya.
