LEASED LINES TARIFFS DOWN IN SEPTEMBER

The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company introduces new prices for leased lines` services, effective from September 1, 2001. The average reduction of the tariffs will be 1,13%. The leased lines of BTC are currently used by mobile operators, Internet providers, and companies, performing specialised communications activities. Local digital 64 Kbit/s lines will become 13% cheaper, 2Mbit/s lines-17%. The average reduction of the prices of the rest of the lines will be 26% . Long-distance leased lines will be 6% cheaper, and the international ones-21%. The charges for analogue leased lines will go up by 30% and 11% for the two-cable and four-cable ones, respectively. The price changes are meant to ensure better balance between the two types of facilities providing the service.
