Bulgaria will have a new Ambassador in Brazil in a couple of weeks or months, the country's Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov announced Wednesday.
Before the Bulgarian media, Mladenov once again tackled the issue involving half of the states diplomats in the foreign missions being recently exposed as former Communist State Security agents. He urged Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov to sign the release of 40 Bulgarian diplomats.
Nikolay Tsachev, Bulgaria's former Ambassador in Brazil, is one of the ex agents exposed.
In May 2010, Tsachev was fired from his position, allegedly due to the Foreign Ministry's internal investigation, which has revealed a number of violations.
Together with the country's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Nikolay Mladenov inspected the Bulgarian embassy's building in the capital Brazilia on Monday. They stated the building is in an extremely poor condition, with no running water or electricity .
Borisov and Mladenov were in Brazil as a part of the Bulgarian delegation invited to attend President Dilma Rousseff's inauguration
