The Cabinet must withdraw immediately budget 2011 and revise it, the leader of the conservative Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party, Yane Yanev demands.
Yanev made the statement Monday, during a press conference at the party's headquarters, giving the Council of Ministers a two-week deadline before the conservatives undertake mass protests.
The party is also asking for the resignation of Education Minister, Sergey Ignatov.
"The budget 2011 is no different than the matrix of the vicious 20 years of Transition," Yanev says, adding such budget is doomed to failure and imposes repression and poverty on Bulgarian people.
The party is further handing Monday an official letter to Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, with concrete proposals on the budget such as serious reforms in the State administration and 20% to 50% layoffs there to lead to savings of over BGN 1.2 B.
In addition, RZS are asking for the introduction of taxation on financial transactions and bank transfers similarly to Great Britain.
"The bank system is always privileged – before the crisis and now, and they should partake some of the hardship," Yanev said.
