US Ambassador in Sofia, James Warlick, has stated that America would like to set up an office of its Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Bulgaria.
“We hope to have a large office in Bulgaria and the reason for that is that we have had a very good cooperation, and we have worked very successfully with the Interior Ministry,” Ambassador Warlick said in a bTV talk show.
With respect to the announcement he made on Friday that Bulgaria could host elements of the US missile shield, His Excellency said, “We face a common threat against Europe from Middle East source, and Bulgaria could be interested in working with us.”
He explained once again that the US and Bulgaria were currently only having discussions about the possibility of locating parts of the US missile defense system on Bulgarian soil, without any time frames or binding deadlines.
