The 22nd edition of the “Best Model of the World” competition opened on Thursday in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The week-long contest takes place at the Dedeman Princess Hotel Sofia, under the patronage of the new mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova.
A total of 135 models from 60 countries are attending the 2009 edition. The contest is one of the few licensed competitions for professional models.
This is the first time the final have been held outside Turkey, where the contest originated in 1987. Part of the proceeds of the Gala Night will be donated to the "Face to the World" charity.
