Seventy-seven Bulgarian servicemen with seven vehicles have been involved in the fire extinguishing operation near the Southern city of Stara Zagora.
The fire broke out Wednesday around noon, and the wind helped flames to quickly reach a pine forest, Darik Radio reported.
Agricultural buildings with farm equipment have been destroyed. No people have been injured.
The fire brigade aims to limit the fire and save other building and the biggest part of the pine forest. The fire has already spread at a 4 kilometers area.
All available personnel and machines of the Stara Zagora fire brigade, seventeen people from Civil Protection, equipment from Stara Zagora municipality, and Kazanlak, including the servicemen, are taking part in the fire extinguishing operation.
The reason for the fire breakout is though to be inappropriate fire lighting.
The operation is extremely difficult due to the mountain terrain where no heavy equipment can be used.
Citizens of Stara Zagora are worried over the possibility of air pollution. However, officials reported that everything was within legal limits.
