Bulgaria's incoming Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, demonstrated a fresh sense of humor during Monday's ceremony for the transfer of power.

During his brief speech for accepting the transfer of power from his predecessor, Socialists Sergey Stanishev, Borisov cracked a joke about the technical support of the microphones and sound system at the transfer of power ceremony.

"Are you going to make it work? Because otherwise we will think it is sabotage. It worked during Mr. Stanishev's speech," Borisov said smiling.

In his brief remarks, Borisov said he hoped that his new government would be able to build upon the positive things that it was going to inherit from its predecessor.

He said that every new beginning was hard especially as he always had to leave his previous jobs - as the Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry (2001-2005), and as the Sofia Mayor (2005-2009) - at a moment when he thought he was best at them.

Borisov guaranteed that there would be no ethnic intolerance within the new government, and that there would be no politically-based witch hunting; all uncovered matters of potential violations were going to see the due process of law.

Borisov's government was sworn in earlier on Monday after it was approved with 162 votes in favor, and 78 votes against in Parliament.
