More than 15 000 Bulgarians are estimated to have visited the fifth annual erotic expo, Eros Show 2009.
Eros Show Sofia took place between March 25 and March 28, every night between 6 pm and midnight. For the price of BGN 15 the visitors could attend, meet, and take pictures with famous Eastern European pornstars, including Alexandra, Alina Plugaru, Dora Meszaros, Linda Racz, Regina Moon, Symba.
The top French porn producer, Pierre Woodman, owner of Woodman Entertainment, was also among the guests of Eros Show 2009.
Apart from various erotic products, the expo also included a pretty sizable stand with volunteers who provided information about sexual health.
According to Peter Tsolov, from the organizers from Premium Expo Bulgaria, the Bulgarian audience is showing increasing interest in the annual Eros Show. Tsolov said the 2008 Eros Show sold 12 300 tickets, and the that number of visitors of the fifth edition of the expo would certainly be more than 15 000.
In his words, the global financial and economic crisis was certainly not affecting the interest of the Bulgarian audience for the show, and was generally not affecting the expo organizing business of his company.
"All countries in Europe have porn movies, and porn actresses. We don't. But since erotics has to find an expression, in Bulgaria we have the "chalga" music (also known as "pop folk" music). I believe this is a problem. Also, there are Bulgarian porn actresses but they are shooting abroad, and they don't want to be know in Bulgaria at all", Tsolov said when asked why there were no Bulgarian guest stars at the event.
The first Eros Show in Bulgaria took place in the city of Varna in 2005. Since then the annual event has moved to Sofia.
