Bulgaria to Launch Emergency Air Assistance by End of May
Bulgaria is set to establish its emergency air assistance service by the end of May, marking a significant step forward in the country's healthcare infrastructure
A Bulgarian system for personal electronic health signature is being introduced and tested on Friday.
The demonstration will be led by the head of the "Electronic Government" department of the Bulgarian Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform, Youri Alkalay.
The personal health signature is an electronic analogue of the personal medical card, and is based on the Internet. It includes all the medical information of the patient - examinations, deceases, prescribed medications, immunizations, etc.
Unlike the paper equivalent, the electronic one can store documents and visual diagnostics. It is on-line based, thus making access easier anytime, anywhere.
The electronic health signature allows making doctor's appointments on-line, and even consultation from other countries. It also contains information about blood type, chronic and inherited deceases, and contacts in case of emergency.
The first signature users will be 40 000 employees of the state administration. 23 000 of them have already received letters with information on how to register and use their health signature.
After the trail period and evaluation, the signature will be launched for all those who have health insurance.
