German Minister: A New Financial Crisis Poses a Threat to the World Economy
The world economy is facing the risk of a new financial crisis, warned German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble, quoted by the electronic edition Politico.
Seven of the richest Bulgarian businessmen have lost a total of BGN 2,4 B since the beginning of the global financial crisis, according to statistics of the Bulgarian website milionerite.com ("the millionaires"), as cited by the Pari Daily.
Vasil Bozhkov, the Bulgarian gambling and construction tycoon, has lost 61,15% of his fortune, which now is estimated BGN 575 M.
The second richest Bulgarian Mitko Sabev, one of the biggest businessmen in the petrol business in Bulgaria, has lost 20% of his capital, and was left with BGN 515 M.
The third place is for the energy tycoon, Hristo Kovachi, who has lost 46% of his wealth, which is now estimated at BGN 458 M.
The fourth place in the chart of the richest Bulgarians is for Tzvetan Vasilev who owns 51% of Corporate Commercial Bank. He has lost 11,88% of his fortune, and now has BGN 445 M.
Vesela Kyuleva, the widow of the assassinated Bulgarian banker, Emil Kyulev, is ranked fifth with a fortune of BGN 260 M. She has lost 50% of it.
The Bulgarian media magnate, Krasimir Gergov, has not lost any of his BGN 215 M, and keeps the sixth place.
The seventh place in the chart is for Grisha Ganchev, who is in the energy business, and is the owner of the former Bulgarian football champion "Litex Lovech". He has lost 65,63% of his fortune, and was left with BGN 165 M.
One of the owners of the Bulgarian pharmaceutical company Sopharma, Ognyan Donev, is eighth, and has not lost any of his BGN 162 M.
Tzvetelina Borislavova, Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov's girfriend, and CEO of CIBank, has not lost any of her BGN 155 M fortune, and occupies the ninth place.
The tenth position is for Valentin Zahariev, who is the former owner of the troubled Bulgarian steel plant Kremikovtzi. He has lost 69,43% of his wealth, and was left with BGN 133 M.
Three of the richest Bulgarians were among the 100 richest persons in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the annual ranking of the Polish magazine Wprost for 2008. Those were Vasil Bozhkov, Hristo Kovachki, and Valentin Zahariev, who were ranked 61st, 98th, and 100th respectively.
