A commercial jet of Continental Airlines left the runway and caught fire during a takeoff in Denver, Colorado, injuring 38 people.
None of the 112 people - 107 passengers and 5 crew members - on board of the airliner was killed or injured critically as all managed to evacuate on the plane's emergency slides.
Flight 1404 of Continental Airlines was supposed to leave for Houston, Texas, at 6:20 pm Mountain Time (GMT+9). The plane did not manage to take off, and went about 700 m after the end of the runway.
The causes of the accident are still unknown, according to the Washington Post.
